I grew up in a Christian home with strong Christian parents. I rededicated my life to Jesus several times while I was growing up and always considered myself blessed to have grown up like this. In some ways, I was pretty isolated from today's world, yet I was always glad of it, for I was spared so many temptations and trials.
When I was a teenager, God did a great work in my life and taught me to give Him my all in worship. I was part of a worship dance team for several years and always felt that I had a great walk with God. I did, but I have since found out that there is much more than I ever imagined. So much more.
But this story started somewhere around the year 2000 when my father-in-law started talking about and exhibiting a closer walk with God... one that was defined by the peace and the rest of God. His life had changed before our very eyes. he had gone from an angry, depressed, suicidal recluse to someone whom many of us barely recognized. The peace and love of God flowed from him, and all he wanted to talk about was what Jesus did for him. I have known him since I was 12 years old, so I could not deny the change in him any more than his family could... then I watched my mother-in-law change just as dramatically.
